  • @theskylifesounds Really? I never knew that the data was situated that close to the top surface. I guess this adds even more to the delicate nature of optical discs. Nevertheless, it's still a pain to get scratches on the read side.

  • @abhitron lmao, and who told you that?? don't you realize that this "read side" you're speaking of is just plastic?? the actual data is stored on the underside of the image on the top of the disc. It's MUCH better to put the disc "read side" down and get a couple scratches you can buff out, than to put it "data side" down. You ding that image at all, and your disc will NEVER work again. If you ding the plastic, you can still buff it out (worst case scenario).
