These kids are better than me and I'm 16. Depressing D:

federer and nadal both learned tennis playing this format there is video of them as little kids.

The modified courts are used to develop the kids strokes, gameplay and tactics earlier, letting them play like an adult and control the ball around the court. Playing on a big court forces them to try and hit the ball harder, the ball bounces over their heads and as they grow, they have to change their strokes, grips, tactics and then they have to learn how to control the ball. This idea isn't 'easier', it's more enjoyable and focuses more on advanced techniques then just feeding from a basket

Yay, Go Federer! You're the fucking best ever!
-
@djmccl04 Sorry, but I really feel the way Federer (and Nadal) learned how to play tennis on a big court from a very early age will always produce hardened and better tennis players then playing on a small court.
-
you're obviously not a tennis coach...thats the most rediculous thing I've ever heard
-

@AnimeIntroStyles4 this format is used all over Europe and many of the top pros learned tennis this way and this is a major reason we are so far behind in player development
