The damn Youtube comment threads don't work, I only saw two of the like, 20 comments. The context is quite a bit different when I read it in the "all comments" page.

Yea, I know what you mean. The comments get all out of order and some of them don't even show.
No worries, I was just getting some of the hipsters panties all in a wad here because they couldn't tell I was being sarcastic. I'm a fan, but I can still have a sense of humour and I don't get all bent out of shape if someone says something bad about something I'm a fan of.

I think if you want to be just like Tom, you can't grow up. Well, maybe a bit, but not too much.

Hmmm. As previous comments show, it's time for me to share an opinion:

Tom Waits, to me, is brilliant, engaging, and funny. His songs leave food for thought and though some may be a jumbled mess, I suppose its part of poetry; it's open for any person to decipher as they will. If it means nonsense to you, then it is. If it means the world to you, then it is. We often take things and mix them into our own knowledge to come to another conclusion; Tom Wait's songs are not far from that arena.

I just threw away my Bible, Koran & Book of Mormon but I kept all my Taoist texts.
