From W.H. Auden who wrote the poem in six lines describing simply, the complex nature of the leaders we allow to draw us into turmoil again and again.

  • None is more bona fide than that of the systemic tyranny of materialism, exploitation and violence. Auden's words ring true today because the madness has become accepted as norm in an almost compassion-less world. This is what he was warning us about as he says "when he laughed respectable senators burst with laughter".

My only regret is that I need to remake this to include Obama and the continuing wars and escalation of the drone attacks

  • Would have been better if they had just stuck to Auden's lines and perhaps directed them towards a bonofide tyranny.

  • I hope he roasts in hell. Very well done.

  • Very good tune Tim! Hope we can see you sometime soon!
