Not only are they burning natural gas to extract/refine this dirty 'oil' - but there are plans to adopt 'clean coal' technology and potentially build nuclear plants to provide energy to the tar sands industry in Alberta. So if you think the nightmare couldn't possibly get worse - it could.

Doesn't this just show the TOTALLY CONTRADICTORY nature of what governments say WE (the people) should do, as opposed to what they (our governments) are ACTUALLY allowing the LARGE CORPORATIONS get away with doing.

You would have to live here to see how increadibly fucked up this is, and the extent of which they plan to take this. It is a fucking monster! British Petrolium is orchistrating this...It just goes so deep into exactly what your comment is saying. But there are twenty year old oil workers driving Lamboughinis so who is going to say no?

Isn't that exactly the same technique the large BANKS use to get their staff to RIP PEOPLE OFF (do immoral things to others)?

i.e throw so much money at the fools that they will agree to do anything to anyone.

Wicked good find! I was trying to explain this to JdouglasFisher once, Pluton and I have spoken of this, but what was also not mentioned is the actual amount of natural gas used for the heating of said water. They want to bring a pipeline from there to pretty much where I live. Crossing a thousand streams and rivers.
