Ha, ha ... it sure looks like fmbp took one too many Dulcolax. Poulenc is soooo Twentieth century. His music is yummy.

Not every organ is the same...they all have different sounds and Murray, who I know personally, happens to be an extraordinary musician.

Yes, but you do NOT need Harrison-voiced reeds at the beginning, like in this recording.

Durufle starts with the tutti, as Poulenc specified. You absolutely need the reeds at the beginning.

I like this one, but have no comparison to the other.
Does yours start out with no reeds at the beginning? Just full plenum and bright mixtures?
That would be a change I would make.

You're absolutely right. As much as I enjoy other more recognized figures in 20th century music, Milhaud and Poulenc remain two of the most underrated composers of the century.
