Canada ro Hawaii: Pigs transported for 7 days

Live pigs are transported over 4,500 kilometres by land and sea from western Canada to Hawaii, a journey of up to nine days.

Hundreds of pigs are forced together in dark, cramped conditions, first on a truck, then a ship. They are hungry and exhausted, waiting long periods for food. Motion sickness causes vomiting. Standing in their own waste, the pigs endure searing temperatures, often over 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Those animals that cannot endure die, from stress related illnesses, diseases caught onboard or simply being crushed. Those that live struggle to walk as they are roughly unloaded into cramped and filthy concrete pens at the slaughterhouse.

The final product is mislabeled as "island Produced Pork". Consumers -- locals and tourists alike -- have no idea of the cruelty involved and the suffering of thousands of live pigs continues. It is totally unnecessary. Chilled or frozen meat, slaughtered locally and humanely, could be exported instead.

Do they ever pet the animals before hurting them severely? They could have a room where the animals are petted nicely maybe...Then after the severe hurting maybe they could pet them again, but maybe just pet around where the blood might be...or they could put a tube in there to take away the blood during the severe hurting. Then they could even pet them longer, or maybe pet them even where some of the red blood may be.

listen we can not all be vegetarians and endure health problem in the future like you will by taking meet out of your diet. We are carnivores and not herbivores. Not wise to go against nature.

This is why i think hunting is the only way to eat an animal, first of all the thrill of the kill is awesome, and the animal that you are eating has lived an awesome free natural life. and up until about 5 seconds after you pull that trigger the animal has no idea it's going to die; this is no way to treat animals especially if were gonna eat them.
