Ridiculously epic scene from Kenneth Branagh's Frankenstein adaptation. Love that Patrick Doyle score.

  • whats the song at about 0:30 or near that time in the vid

  • @megaman765FAN1

The whole thing is a single track called "The Creation", from Patrick Doyle's score for the movie.

  • When i create my own monster i always run around my lab naked.

This movie is the best adaptation of Frankenstein. Is not a perfect movie, but otherwise this is one of my favorite flicks. The music of Patrick Doyle is one of the highliths of the film.

I still need to see the 30s version, but I'd probably agree. Definitely agree about the score. It could be the best thing about the movie.

  • We watched this scene in school and we were all in hysterics :)_ Why did he feel the need to go topless?! We found the later writhing about on the floor especially funny :D

I think the movie has some genius stuff in it, but I can't disagree. I think if it hadn't been so over-the-top it'd be regarded as a success.

  • how to create life:

    1. build a body

    2. run around your lab naked

    3. put the body into a large tub of fluids

    4. electrify the water with electric eels.

    5. jump ontop of the tub and tell your creature to "live". You may have to shout this for him/it to hear you through all of that dramatic orchestral music you have playing in the background.

  • best version frankenstein movies...

  • one off the best scene this film...great frankenstein...truly good actors.

  • "I saw-with shut eyes, but acute mental vision-I saw the pale student of unhallowed arts kneeling beside the thing he had put together. I saw the hideous phantasm of a man stretched out, and then, on the working of some powerful engine, show signs of life and stir with an uneasy, half-vital motion. Frightful must it be, for supremely frightful would be the effect of any human endeavor to mock the stupendous mechanism of the Creator of the world."

    -Mary Shelley

  • @Toogorax if you know the physics of electricity and have seen the famous 1931 creation scene there were a couple of thousand volts in total for all of those machines and a lot of amps to generate the HUGE arcs required on film.

  • how much voltage is going through all that machinery that it can arc with such intensity?

  • I prefer the '31 version directed by James Whale out of all the adaptations.

Reason: The electric apparatus is just epic. Imagine using all of that to cook a single piece of toast.

  • There's never too much Kenneth Branagh

  • @owenopoliss We watched it also. The moment that the creature's willy showed all the girls said turn it off while laughing.
