The music at beginning is CHopin Etude no 3 or the song in English "So deep is the night" You can hear it by TOny Christie, and many other os on YOUTUBE. All of them are really beautiful.Go and look. Well worth it

The whole tango, not only the beginning, is on the Chopin Etude in E major no. 3, Tristesse. It also has lyrics in Italian and can be seen sung by such opera greats as Jose Carreras and "Pippo" Di Stefano who probably blow everybody else out of the picture although I must say, the tango version is not bad at all and for my taste has better lyrics!
