Mark Josefsberg is a remarkably effective and dedicated teacher of the Alexander Technique. The technique has helped me overcome injury, develop patience and poise, and has brightened my life in countless ways. Way to go, AT! Way to go, Mark!

No doubt about it. The AT is life changing. I did not know where to turn after decades of lifting weights, running, contorting my body, yet I still was not satisfied with my appearance. It was the lengthening of the spine that hooked me. I was tall and gangly so I did not think that getting taller was the right thing to do. It was indeed the right thing to do because it helped me breath better and loosen my spinal posture. Everything feel into place afterward.

An intuitive and insightful practitioner! After 2 back surgeries 6 years apart, the AT way of life I learned from Mark is beyond invaluable. 9 years since my 2nd back surgery - with AT, I've been able to avoid a 3rd. When I move with intent in the way Mark teaches, I'm able to neutralize any twinges that may pop up and aid my body to heal itself. If you have pain and you're lucky enough to live in the NY area, I highly recommend Mark Josefsberg!

This is a great video from a great Alexander Teacher! He's the real deal. He understands the technique both practically and in its broadest sense. That is it can help so much in our daily lives, and also change us profoundly for the better. I've worked with Mark about a year, but had lessons for decades and he's one of the best teachers i've met - very dedicated, wise, down to earth and funny.

AT is about releasing chronic tension. We all have it. Just more or less. I didn't even think I had any problems or tensions until I took my first lessons. This is really great work. It creates a lot more body AND present moment awareness. My recommendation is that everybody should take classes in AT, regardless of pain or not.
Hi I'm currently training to be an AT teacher in Germany, do you think thats its possible to make a living from teaching the AT ? Nice video presentation, I think the AT needs more public awareness so that it can be more greatly used by the general public. All the best with your practice.

Hi,
Good luck with your training! I agree the Alexander Technique needs more exposure. Oprah needs to have another article in her magazine, and have somebody on her show talking about it!
I'm a full time AT teacher in New York.
Best,
Mark

I havent hear about this technique before, but after watching this video I can say that this is surly a form of meditation/relaxation technique, so it has a much broader application than releasing physical pain.

Hi Fenix,
Thanks for commenting.
While the Alexander Technique is surely relaxing, I'm not sure if it's a form of meditation. However, I think you're on to something when you talk about it's broader applications. I think of this technique as psycho-physical.

Hey Mark, I have a huge problem with my posture an due to it I have developed winged scapula, I've had it for years now an no doctor will help me out...do you have any advice an would this AT work to correct it?
Thanks for your time

Hi 4butler,
I know of no other modality more suited for improving what is generally called posture. If you have a 'huge problem' with yours, it's *definitely* worth a try.
