Playstation 3 Blu-ray Load

I have the 80GB PS3 (MGS4 Edition).
When loading any Blu-ray movie- the system seems to reset, then there's some snow along with popping in the audio, followed by a solid color (purplish).
This issue occurs 7 times out of 10.

Is this typical?

I have my system set to "Disc auto-start off."

It's definitely not the HDMI cable or the TV.

(The TV is a Samsung LN-T4671F)

lol I'am sorry sound liked popcorn, its really feedback from your ps3 to your tv speakers mine does the same thing, the louder I have my tv turned up the louder the poping noise is if I turn if down to zero no poping noise its just feedback and mine does it on the ps3 games and blues when its loading up the game or movie if I play a PSN game no noise. I moved my PS3 away from the TV and it was not interfering with my TV but I put it back cause I felt better after that, and it was not my tv or PS

@UNCHARTED9444 but your ps3 uses the same cpu, gpu, ram and blue ray driver 2x. so it will be as slow
