When You Like Someone A Wen & Olivia Oneshot(and lame video)

Lame video, cute-ish oneshot, I guess :) idk how to spell De je vous, so I spelled it 2 different ways!

I swear he’s been flirting since we began our band, but nothing has happened from it. Whenever we’re alone, I get butterflies in my stomach, I usually do something stupid too. I get all nervous and stutter-y. “Oh crap!” I thought, as I watched him walking over. I knew I’d embarrass myself, again.

“Hey Olivia!”

“Oh, hey Wen, what’s up?”

“Um…Stella said we should uh, work on that song…”

“She’s so controlling sometimes,” I laughed, “let’s get started.”

“I’m having some writer’s block though.”

“So am I actually.”

“Maybe we should just like go do something and we’ll figure it out eventually.”

“Oh, sure, that sounds great,” I nervously pushed my hair behind my ear.

We went to Starbucks and we just kinda sat there. Gosh, if I like him so much, I should be able to be alone with him!

“I swear I don’t even know how to be a girl…”

“What?”

Oh poop, I just said that out loud!

“I mean, don’t most girls flirt or something?”

“Um, I guess…”

“I don’t…why? Cuz I can’t. I’m a flirting fail!”

“Why does that matter?”

“Because a guy won’t know if I like him! And he probably won’t like me!”

“If a guy is a good one, then you don’t have to flirt before they fall for you.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, really. You just have to be you. You is pretty awesome, by the way. It’s the guy’s job to make a move anyway, just some of us fail at that, cuz we get nervous and don’t know how to share our feelings. Or, even worse, we get caught up in a moment and say something really, really lame and kinda awkward. Or we ramble on and on and on about nothing or maybe it is about something, but it doesn’t change the fact that we ramble--”

“Wen!”

“What?”

“You mean like you’re doing right now?” I smiled shyly.

“Um…no, of course not. It’s a lot less pointless than that. Like how to beat up a bear or different types of guns or--”

“What guys ramble about when they like a girl?”

“Yeah…”

“Maybe if you stop denying it, it’ll get easier,” I pulled at my sweater nervously, why oh why did I just set him up to deny me.

“Maybe you’re right.”

“Well try it sometime.”

“Okay, I will…”

“Good,” I looked away, I should’ve said that either.

“Olivia?”

“Yeah?”

“Who do you know that’s done all those things?”

“You mean get too nervous to talk to me, say something lame and awkward, and ramble?”

“Yeah that…”

“Um…”

“Me, I have and I’ve done it cuz I like you, a lot.”

“You do?”

“Yeah, I do.”

All of the sudden, I felt sick, curse my nerves, “I-I…I’m sorry, I’ll be back!” I ran to the girl’s room.

“Olivia!”

I locked myself in a stall and started bawling, I made a total idiot out of myself. I felt like I was going to hurl. Then I heard the door open, I silenced myself and just sat there.

“Olivia, I’m not leaving till you come out.”

Oh crap, what is he doing in here?

“Olivia, I’m sorry if I made things really awkward, I really am. I feel awful. Are you okay?”

I stayed silent.

“Olivia, I know you’re in here. I saw you come in.”

I sighed and tried to wipe my tears away. I grabbed my compact mirror, and noticed I was all red and puffy, “Fine, you caught me,” I chocked out.

“Are you…crying?”

“No,” I lied, “of course not.”

“Yes, you are.”

“No, I’m not. Wen, I’m fine.”

“Olivia, I can hear you sniffling and barely chocking out your words. I can tell your crying. What’s wrong? Did I ruin something by admitting I like you?”

“No, it’s not that at all…”

“What is it then, Olivia?” he said gently.

“Nothing…”

I heard footsteps, then a gasp.

“Sorry to creep you out,” I heard Wen start, “upset friend, I have to help her.”

I heard footsteps again.
“That was awkward…”

I smiled a little, “Yeah, just a bit.”

“Here,” he handed me a lemonade, “De je vu.”

I giggled, “Yeah, but we’re alone this time,” I took a sip, then stepped out of the stall, “Let’s go back to the table and I’ll tell you what’s really on my mind.”

“Okay.”

We walked back to the table.

“Wen, I’m so sorry. I got nervous and broke down. That’s just what I do.”

“Why were you nervous, Olivia?”

“Because, I’ve never had a guy tell me he liked me before…probably cuz no other guy has…”

“That can’t be true--”

“I didn’t know to react, so I panicked, so I just ran…I didn’t want you to see me cry…I was humiliated.”

“Why? It’s just me.”

“No, it’s not just you, it is you!”

“What?”

“Wen, I like you too, a lot.”

“You do?”

“Yes, haven’t you noticed? I stutter like an idiot every time we’re alone, I get nervous and jittery, and jumpy. That’s cuz I like you. And when guys like girls, they use direct address A LOT,” I smiled.

He smiled back, “Well then, would you be my girlfriend, Olivia?”

“Absolutely.”
