@KoumoriXxX There is no "original singer". This is a sea shanty probably created somewhere circa 1780-1790. There is no way to ever know it's origins as most sea shanties were created by sailers to keep themselves occupied while they worked on ships. They kind of served the same purpose that a radio serves to us today.
