thank God, my parents where not religious, and I stopped being a Catholic when I turned 11 years old....the god who kills his own son story did not make any sense to me....it seems to be a little easier in Europe to not be religious than in the USA... (I was born in Czech Republic)

Ps. : I am not an atheists but something like that..

I think atheism is rather hypocritical. You make fun of theists for being so sure there is a God, when you are so sure that there isn't. I am a Christian for my own reasons.

B) Those of us who do, don't make fun of you for being sure there is a god, we make fun of you for believing childish absurdities.

You might want to read a dictionary to understand what atheism actually means.

There is no 'point' to it. It's not some kind of political movement.

And atheists can easily be so sure, simply because it is logical not to believe in something that isn't true or provable.

There is no god. This is a simple fact that  is easily understood.

All god figures are projections of the human imagination.

All religion is inept puppetry, and the puppeteers are ALWAYS people.

When the puppeteers dwindle to nothing, so do the gods they once animated.

It is simple to see that this is so.

Why dignify the theist's arguments by delving into the abyss of their ontological squirmings?

Debunking the idea of god is easy, and requires no more eloquence than this.

It's true that you can't convince believers to abandon their religions. Wizard's First Rule (Terry Goodkind fan service), people are stupid; they will believe whatever they want or fear to be true.

Also, believers are some of the most ANNOYING arguers on the planet. They make anime geeks look normal! Most of us atheists give up trying because our intended audience is ignoring the facts in favor of quoting lines from a grossly misinterpreted book of fairy tales. Their minds are closed.

I'm sorry if I'm not an expert on atheist behavioral studies, but I thought the point of atheism is to oppose religion/ religious people.
