Over the October Half Term the A1 Trust's A1 4-6-2 60163 'Tornado' moved to the Severn Valley Railway for a 2 week visit, hauling trains over the half term. On the tuesday I went along to see her, running alongside three of the line's home fleet. The final line-up was:
|LNER/A1 Trust A1 4-6-2 60163 'Tornado'
|GNR N2 0-6-2T 1744 (part 1 only)
|LMS 'Stanier Mogul' 2-6-0 42968
|GWR 78xx 4-6-0 7812 'Erlestoke Manor'
Unfortunately Hampton Loade loop was out of action, meaning that 7812 only ran as far as Highley throughout the day, as did I. The plan I eventually followed was:
|10:30 Kidderminster-Northwood Halt (1744)
|Walk to Arley
12:49 Arley-Highley (42968)
|13:05 Highley-Kidderminster (7812)
|14:10 Kidderminster-Highley (7812)
|15:45 Highley-Kidderminster (7812's cab)
This is part one of two. Hope you enjoy it
