This is me doing an acoustic cover of "Never My Love" by The Association using my TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 for the vocal harmonies.

  • I agree with Auramac: lose the VoiceLive 2 and sing it just with your guitar; you've got a great voice. I stumbled in here from Best Of My Love and I think that you do not need all the accompaniment. But if you feel that you've got to have it, then find real, human harmonizers. All that electronic jazz really isn't real and an audience would resent seeing you in a setting with a computerized VoiceLive backup. (Oh...and lose the headphones too. Just look natural.)

  • @OakBluffer Thanks for watching the video and thanks for the kinds words. Believe me, I would MUCH rather harmonize with real singers! Using the VL2 is just a way to add some sonic interest to what would normally be just another solo acoustic version of a song that is pretty much known for it's vocal harmonies. Yes, the solo voice with acoustic guitar is a more pure performance... but I was just having fun with it and digging how the VL2 was making the vocal sound more like the original.

  • good cover thanks

  • @ColdToiletSeats Thanks for watching.

  • Really enjoyed not only how well this tune leant itself to harmony, but your wonderfully laid back yet solid groove on both guitar and interpretation of the melody.

    Great performance!

I'd love to share this on TC-Helicon's Facebook this week if that's ok with you?!

I can't wait to hear what you do next!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon Thanks Joey. Absolutely... share away! I really like so many of the great songs from this era and enjoy trying make them work for solo acoustic guitar/vocalist. Of course, the VoiceLIve 2 was a big factor in making this one come alive... I love my VL2! My only concern is over-using it... but the original Association recording is pretty much harmonized the whole way through so I think in this case it's OK.

  • Nice singing, playing, arrangement. Think it would sound better (more natural, real) without the VoiceLive.

  • WOW! AMAZING. NICE WORK AND THANKS
