Profile of the new leader of North Korea, its future, and recurring problems. Kim Jong-Un is the new godlike "Great Leader" of the country after his father, Kim Jong-Il's death. This video is NOT about communism and it is NOT about America. It's about North Korea and its relationship to the outside world, as well as Kim-Jong-Un's probable future as leader. I put a link below about how Kim Jong-Il removed references to communism in the revision to the nation's constitution in 1998. The video discusses what we can expect or not expect from the new leader, and if relations will change because of Il's death.
*NOTE*: Every source given below, except for the Aljazeera inside story, has been entirely read, watched, and reviewed by myself. (AJ watched halfway). I have watched all the documentaries given in the description from beginning to end, have read all the articles, and seen all the photos given. Every source given in this description has been used for the making of this video. All documentaries and articles provided contributed to my research. I am not an IR or North Korean expert, just a girl with a Political Science Associate's degree who is interested in North Korea, as it is one of the most intriguing regimes in the modern world. Also, if you are a "North Korea-Oppression-Denier" you really need to watch some of the documentaries provided and do more research. While I admit there are good, although small, things about the country, it DOES and IS oppressing its people. In conclusion, most Americans are NOT allowed into North Korea. Therefore, most of the footage and interviews and even article info is from non-American sources. Also, there are thousands who have escaped from North Korea and a lot of them have given personal testimony as to what went on when they lived there. In one of the documentaries, you will learn of a man who had worked as a prison guard in the concentration camps and witnessed the horrible things they did there. If you are a denier, please review your research before you say something stupid and offensive.

JUCHISM IN RELATION TO MARXISM, STALINISM, AND MAOISM: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juche "In 1972, Juche replaced Marxism-Leninism in the revised North Korean constitution as the official state ideology, this being a response to the Sino-Soviet split. Juche was nonetheless defined as a creative application of Marxism-Leninism. Kim Il-sung also explained that Juche was not original to North Korea and that in formulating it he only laid stress on a programmatic orientation that is inherent to all Marxist-Leninist states. After the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union, North Korea's greatest economic benefactor, all reference to Marxism-Leninism was dropped in the revised 1998 constitution."

  • Is it necessarily true that a state of war technically remains until a peace treaty is signed?

  • @lazyperfectionist1 Not necessarily, but war is still declared between SK and NK. North Korea is still under the impression they are at war, and South Korea never surrendered. They keep troops right on the border (both sides) watching each other's every move. There is still a technical war between the countries. And both have had terrorist attacks against the other. To us, the Korean war is long over. But not to them.

  • @fruitikay Maybe you detailed it in the video and I missed it, and if that's the case, I offer my apologies, but what would it take to bring the two to an official state of peace?

  • @lazyperfectionist1 North Korea is the main stubborn one because they have brainwashed everyone into thinking that America started the Korean War (when NK were the ones that invaded originally). They are pissed that American troops are still on the border of the South and have bases there. They want them to leave first, because they see their presence as a continued act of war and resistance. But even if US did leave, there would still be problems between NK and SK. It's hard to say. (con't)

  • @lazyperfectionist1 NK said that they will not cease their aggression unless the US removes troops. NK thinks that the only thing barring reunion with the South is the US. However, even if the US left, SK would never want to unify with them if their economy is still dead and their mentality is still towards the dictator, since they have a different political system and economical system. The "war" may never really end unless both sides agree to re-merge or be content with being NK and SK.

  • I'd lay on ya...

  • great introduction to your channel..happy new year,

  • WE LOVE YOU FRUITIKAY!!!!!! Vegeterianism is ebil though ;(

  • I just got done watching all of your videos. I really love what you have to say. Keep it up

  • great video

    off to the links now

    thanks!

  • @fruitikay - Well, it was a 'leak' after all, so I don't think they really wanted to make it apparent/public.

Now that it's on the table, I wonder what they are going to do, both publically, and privately... Hm.

China is kinda 'skitzo' (for lack of an impactful/relevant term) about their policies. It's sort of like how they have been implimenting new green policies out the wazoo, and just as quickly, pushing for industry which pollutes.

This, I think, is just another example of that.

  • @PurpleGhost Damn, after all my research, I wasn't aware that China was against NK's attitudes towards SK. But I do know that China's relations with NK is a bit odd considering China is working towards being the top economy in the world. But because of NK's economy, I can understand why they'd want to distance themselves from them. At the same time, China assists NK in catching refugees and escapees from NK who escape through China's border, sadly. Thanks for your info.

  • @PurpleGhost - Oh pardon me, I got my source mixed up the wikileaks article was talking about how China is apparently planning on distancing themselves from NK. (but that they still do not support the US's tactics in dealing with NK)

It was a NewYorkTimes article, which was suggesting China's intentions.

(Since there worried talk of Kim Jong-Un possibly trying to carve a name for himself out of blood - Something China doesn't want, as it's so close to home)

  • Thanks for the links. I'll have to watch that documentary.

You sound so displeased by the idea that China is trying to maintain it's realtions... Personally, I don't think that it's any more frightening, or unexpected, than the states saying they want Korea to stop their nuclear program. (rather wish the states would lead by example on that one)

Besides, there was a wikileak on that, which suggested China did that, to have the continued ability to pressure NK into not waring with SK. Leverage.

  • @fruitikay I'm under the impression that China also has troops along the northern side of the buffer zone. Am I right about that? Do you know?
