one of the things that I love so much about starcraft 1 cinematics is how dark and depressing they are. The atmosphere changes to much in Starcraft 2. I don't like it as much.

Starcraft I was influenced by darker, grittier movies like Starship Troopers, Apocalypse Now, and Aliens.

Starcraft II was influenced more by Firefly and Battlestar Galactica.

Of course he has a responsibility (Kill Kerrigan.) But that doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings for her. Its not bad writing Kerrigan is his love. She always was. Did you even play all the way through Starcraft II? He was plotting to try and kill her in the beginning hence why he was "all over her". But later found out she could be saved. So of course he would try to save her first and he did. So i'd be grateful they actually released another Starcraft game. RTS is almost a dead genre.

At the end of True Colors mission, Jim Raynor swore to hunt and eliminate Kerrigan as quoted here:

"It may not be tomorrow, darlin'. It may not even happen with an army at my back. But rest assured: I'm the man who's going to kill you some day. I'll be seein' you."

So how come he was all over her at the beginning of Wings of Liberty??

And the answer is... Terribly writing/scripting.

SCII Plotwise had an enormous chance to be epic but blizz has been deceased since WoW:BC.

Nah, SC2 is also great.

This intro still gives me goosebumps.

And the biggest emotional reaction I got from SC2 trailer was a smirk. "I never gave up on you Sarah." Well Jim, I wish I could tell the same when it comes to SC2 storyline...
