Broodwar cinematics were pretty rad.
It feels like SCII got the COD treatment; as if the devs got a large group of 11 year olds together and asked them what they thought was the coolest shit ever, then made a game with it.

A lot of people don't realize that the trench scene is a big reference to Apocalypse Now. Especially the black marine with the grenade launcher -- but because this was a kid's game he couldn't say "motherfucker" after he blew the Zergling apart :D
Seriously, watch Apocalypse Now and you'll realize exactly when you get to the Broodwar Intro... even the background music is the same.

@F10F11hm then u must be blind as fuck sc2 is in every way better then sc1 the cinimatics are amazing the gameplay althogh not perfact is better only thing they need to make it a classic is more units and balance...

@nthjalte Don't you mean "they USED TO know how to make good cinematic and story"? Sorry, but Starcraft 2 - being almost a parody of the Starcraft universe in many ways - proved this company is going downhill, or at least Metzen forgot how to create interesting stories and characters. As for cinematics, nothing in SC2 can even TOUCH the level of quality of this video and many others from SC1.

@F10F11hm one of the things that I love so much about starcraft 1 cinematics is how dark and depressing they are. The atmosphere changes to much in Starcraft 2. I don't like it as much.
