Swearing on Saturday Kitchen - 23rd May 2009 - Eric Chavot - BBC

Saturday Kitchen has a feature where the guest chefs have to cook a 3 egg omelette as fast as they can. French chef Eric Chavot clearly wasnt enthralled by the challenge and was taking as long as possible. When the host, James Martin, started singing to show his impatience Eric let rip with the fbomb relating to the state of Vivek Singhs omelette.

Pure comedy at 11am on a Saturday morning.

Horrible quality as it was a mobile phone capture, but you can get the idea of what happened!

It's a swear word.....so what?? A quick apology (at most) would/should have been sufficient. What's the point in forcing a false apology out of someone to whom swearing is a normal part of everyday life? Why should he pretend to be sorry to satisfy a group of uptight, backward viewers?

@Chiefy220 Because it was 11AM and we still have *some* standards in the UK... No swearing / proper adult content till after 9PM. Some people find swearing offensive (funnily enough) and day time viewing should be expletive free.

To me a word is a word, how it is said and who it is directed at is what makes it offensive. This was just funny.

Saw this. It was funny how you could tell James Martin was putting on a smiley face but was dismayed/angry inside - that kind of thing could get the show cancelled.

They apologised categorically and got the chef to apologise too.

I WAS WATCHING IT WHILE THIS HAPPENED WOO, i was acually kinda shocked :L didnt expect that would happen i guess he didnt know what LIVE ment and its in the title saturday kitchen LIVE haha he pretty much shutted up throughtout the rest of the programme which was funny lol
