Raül Agné, Girona's soccer team trainer, got angry because Spanish journalists requested him to answer in Spanish a question made by a Catalan journalist. Catalan is the language of Catalonia, a country currently within the state of Spain. Even 35 years after the end of Franco's dictatorship (the most recent period during which Catalan language was forbidden), many Spaniards still impose Spanish as the unique language of Spain. Cultural and economical issues are feeding independentism, which looks for Catalonia to be and independent state from Spain within the European Union.
