Danny Whitten cover by Jeff Isom. My attempt at a great tune. Thanks Marco for the lyrics. I may redo this later, My harmonica has a few sick notes in it. Need a new one..

  • Lovely job there man. Danny Whitten wrote this? Great song. It was a hit in the 80's for a british pop act, can't remember the name of the group. Always liked it though..

  • I'm pretty sure, Rod Stewart put his spin on it in the 80's

  • Great job with this song! I can't say I was aware that Whitten wrote it. Was the song on the first Crazy Horse album? If so, I would have that.

  • Heyman, I wasn't aware of it either.. I got a few Crazy horse albums, but don't remember it..Marco hooked me up with this.. Rod just doesn't get this..

  • Give me five Jeff......This version in incredibly good...If you have some doubt about Danny Whitten, He was the guitarist and singer of the first Crazy Horse and when He died was replaced by Sampedro..Maybe you make some confusion whit Bruce Berry, he was a Neil's roadie and both died of overdose and ispired Neil for tonight is the Night...Ciao

  • I don't doubt youthere.I never liked Stewarts version. There is a a version from the 80's with a chick singing it which is the first version I heard. Always liked that.

  • You like the sick notes? I had to play around them, making it more of a challenge.. Thanks Anette..

  • Thanks again Julie, You know how it is, when you got a bunch of songs in your head, they all start sounding the same. I was thinking of branching out into Nick Drake stuff. I have always liked him, He just has some crazy tunings. I would have to put a bunch of effort into it. You do him really well, Your own thing going on..

  • Great cover Jeff! Reminds me of your earlier Buffalo Springfield song. You've got your own thing going on and you sound GREAT!

    All stars

    cheers

    julie

  • I alway's thought this was a Rod Stewert song, you learn something new every day, don't you ! ~ I don't know wether it's the Guitar, or your vocal's, Jeff, but i prefer this version ~ Geoff
