How a small beautiful bay in Scotland is being given over to concrete and car parks for a local private sailing club. The have yachts vs the have nots.
so after making the video and now that the Beach access ramp is nearly complete, do you still feel the same cos I for one think it will be an improvement to what was basically a corner of the beach where all the rubbish collected, if anything there will be more grass to use and no paths are being removed.
I live in Largs and walk down to the pencil point often, I think its a shame that they are doing this and will disrupt alot of wild life. However I have noticed that they have already started the work for this only after seeing this this video the other day.
Well done, nice video. Shame it is such a one sided view. The new development will help in expanding Largs sailing club and theirs plans to get young kids on the water and sailing.
The video makes the new slipway sound like an enviromental disaster when in actual fact a small rocky corner of a dirty, littered unused beach will be transformed into a slipway that will be used by local sailors, canoeists, windsurfers etc.
The natural habitat of the wildlife is a major consideration. If anyone else had applied for planning consent it would have been refused on these grounds. This development should be strenuously opposed.
