Roger Wolfe Kahn & His Orchestra, Vocal refrain by Johnny Marvin - We'll Have a Kingdom (Harbach - Hammerstein - Friml) Fox-trot from the Musical Comedy "The White Rose", Victor 1926 (USA)

NOTE: Roger Wolfe KAHN (1907 --1962) American jazz musician, bandleader. Born into a wealthy German Jewish banking family (his father was Otto Hermann Kahn, a famous banker), Roger learned to play 18 musical instruments before starting to lead his own orchestra in 1923, aged only 16. In 1925, Kahn appeared in a short film made in Lee De Forest's Phonofilm sound-on-film process. Kahn hired famous jazz musicians of the day to play in his band, especially during recording sessions, for example Joe Venuti, Eddie Lang, Artie Shaw, Jack Teagarden, Red Nichols, and Gene Krupa.
However, in the mid-1930s, he lost interest in his orchestra and disbanded it. Instead, he preoccupied himself with aviation and eventually, in 1941, became a test pilot.

  • Super!!! Fantastic!!

  • @MaisSimples Some of these "happy brides" do not look happy at all. Vivien Leigh is on verge of despair, as it seems. And Jeannette McDonald as well as her bridesmaids present angry or only severe faces, not very appropriate for the event.

  • thanks.

  • @chiekom8 And thank you too. Happy New Year!

  • A delight to see the photos and hear the song thanks

  • @neilkcoker I'm glad that you liked it. Thank you :-) !

  • Great sparkling 20s sound...

  • @240252 My pleasure! It took me a while to work it out. When people LIKE a piece, that 1000-1 ratio goes UP. Thus your ten-to-one ratio is something to be proud of - it is ten times better than average!

    Happy New Year!

  • I love it, thanks so much for all your uploads over the year, which I enjouyed immensly and I certainly will be an eager listener in 2012. To you the very best for the year to come y muchos saludos desde Puerto Rico.

  • @240252 Oh! yeah! But they're beautiful and seem happy as every bride should look ... A Happy New Year, my friend!!

  • @morpheusatloppers It's good to be informed about the RATIOs of the good and bad uploads!!! Yet, I had no idea something like this ever existed! Well, I should say "it provokes me to make my clips better and better"... Thank you! :-))

  • @Trombonology You've just seen my point - I arranged the sequence of photos in such away, to make clear how public tastes changed in pass of time: from those grandiose wedding piles of tulle & laces or monstruous trains a la Swanson to the modesty of Carole Lombard and natural beauty of Rita Hayworth, to say nothing of the girlish face of Lauren Bacall, who looks so simple and so much in love.

  • @daniel76150 Hello Daniel, and thank you! Is in Paris the same cold and snowy/rainy like it is now in Poland? Greetings!
