Uncle Tony had awesome tomato plants until the blight came to town in 2009 . not much you can do when this happens besides clean /burn your garden.
three good ways to " Help"prevent the blight is
...start plants from seed.
....plant LATE!!!after the early cold and rain is over. July in (NY)
....and don't grow tomatoes in the same spot year after year. this should help..
Try using Sea-Crop at 16 oz/acre or 1:25 drench every 5 days for 30 days, then weekly throughout growing season. This will also boost mineral content giving the fruit better keeping quality, taste and other fungal resistance besides boosting production. See agriculturesolutions.ca for veggie program-also qualifies for organic production.Enhancing the soil biology in the orchard will prevent bacterial, fungal and infestations.Stopped blight and saved tomato crop. Will get new growth in 2-3 weeks

@cmcarney1205 - The news is saying that blight blows around in the wind like a virus. Water your plants "only" in the morning.

Only water plants in the morning. Otherwise there will be mold + bacteria.

My tomatoes caught something last year. So, I pulled the green ones and made pickled green tomatoes and relish. I didn't want a total loss. This way I did get something for my troubles.
