Part 1 in my series on XBMC4Xbox, this chapter deals with Emulators and a sampling of the wide variety of emulation that the Xbox is capable of. All of this is done on a Softmodded Original Xbox with the latest stable Build of XBMC4Xbox (3.0.1). Remember, if you want to keep up to date on XBMC4Xbox, go to www.xbmc4xbox.org. as well, they have an irc channel called #xbmc4xbox on Freenode (irc.freenode.net). And be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more videos from myself. The next installment will be dealing with Video playback, streaming off of a network, etc.

  • @lmadope all xboxes are the same if you are referring to that. as well i am only using the stock 8 gig hard drive on mine, and i have emulators for all the systems you see here, but i didnt put every nintendo 64 title on mine as not all are compatible, and as well i dont like allllll of the games lol. same with super nintendo. atari 2600 and nes are the only complete collections i had put on the xbox. if you have a chipped xbox then any size past 20 gig would be ok.

  • @daiatlus79:

I have 180gb and have less than 600mb free. =(

Then again I have all the emus up to N64 including the great PCSXBox. For N64 and PS1 games I probably have 30 or so.

After that, I have a ton (30-40) Xbox games.

  • First thing I did was go through all my xport emulators and delete the BGM music.

  • @MrFannypackz well the roms are usually put into a directory within the emulators folder (example - E:\emulators\nes\roms would be one folder). you should make yourself familiar with the xbox's file structure when you start copying things. one tip: when you set up the Surreal64 emulator, you will have to edit and replace the surreal .ini file to specify where your N64 roms will be. the other emulators, such as the ones you see in the video can have their roms found simply by browsing.

  • @daiatlus79 Thanks. I'm about to softmod 2 xboxes. I've seen some videos around where you can browse your rom collections on the various systems in a streamlined interface for each system. I'm not sure how that is achieved. Do you know anything about this?

  • @MrFannypackz depends on the game you are trying to run. there is an N64 compatibility list online that will tell you what ones are the best ones to try to run, and in what modes. as for PSX, i havent really tried yet. maybe in a future vid i will try

  • Do any of the emulators run games at slower speeds? PSX, N64, etc?
