People need to consider that his view of potheads and drunkards is only specific to what he has seen. He has no universal opinion on the subject, it's subjective because anyone else can find contradictory information. That being said, he is always enlightening.

we know alot more about marijuana since Buk's time. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Bukowski fan, but pot usage is more safe than alcohol usage. Get a drunk on a 60 year binge and a pot head on a 60 year binge, the pot head would be better off. Alcohol destroys all of your vital organs. no one wins there, but alcohol is still worse
