  • Thank you. I was nervous reciting this piece becuz Audre Lorde is so larger than life to me. I encourage everyone to read Sister Outsider. Audre is a blessing. She's full of so much wisdom, experience and passion when it comes to the Black experience, as well as the lesbian experience. She possesses knowledge that can heal us all.

  • this is a fabulos poem it,s the truth it is very powerfull Audre told the truth of those of us who are sercetly scared those of us who write about this subject preaching to ourselfs and others of the same conection Audre,s work of this poem helps us not be scared to stand strong and say this is who i am and you can,t do anything to change that Audre,s powerfull poem makes us feel proud in are own skin and do what we want.

  • u r beautiful n so is da poem

  • That was very Beautiful!!

  • so beautiful. thank you for that, love.

  • Loved it. I am inspired to share one of my many favorite quotes from our Lorde: Perhaps for some of you here today, I am the face of one of your fears. Because I am Woman, because I am Black, because I am Lesbian, because I am myself - A Black Woman Lesbian warrior poet doing my work - come to ask you, are you doing yours?

  • I must say this is my first time being introduce to Audre Lorde..this poem actually touched me and made me cry..beautiful and emotional..thank you!

  • Excellent video important and relevant!

    "For the master's tools will

never dismantle the master's house. They may allow us temporarily to beat

him at his own game, but they will never enable us to bring about genuine

change. And this fact is only threatening to those women who still define

the master's house as their only source of support..."

  • Audre Lorde rocks my socks....i def need to finish her book Zami :)

  • i love it... its funny because you put this up on my bday and i relate so much to it. like, when i get with someone, i never expect her to stay. or she has to say i love you first because i'm too afraid. or when they walk ahead of me, i think they'll never slow down and leave me behind. but i love it real talk.
