At least the bible is not prejudice when it comes to oppression. LOL

Religion stunts the growth of modern civilization. In its roots it screams totalitarianism and yearns for the dark ages where the answer to every question is "god did it". Islam is a great example of strong "faith".

Bless you young Sister! Keep on preaching in that boldness for the Lord. I can hear your heart. I believe that the most selfish thing in the world is to recieve God's love and not share it with others so that they can know it too!

The fact that incredulity, skepticism, doubt, and a demand for proof is one of the unpardonable sins, and belief without these things is one of the greatest virtues is the thing that makes me MOST suspicious of religion.

There are a lot of B/S stories in the bible.

The Bible allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9) Corinthians 11:7 - 9 just to name a few.

The Old Testament is no longer in effect some might say. Perhaps they should read where Jesus makes it clear: "It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB)
