The only place we can currently go to is the moon. Our longest trip was 12 days and we had to high tail it back for food, water, and air. We may be able to go to Mars with when we develop nuclear rockets but again - no food, water, or air, and we'll have to get back quickly. Future space travelers will probably become environmentalists after realizing how great and rare is Earth. I do want people go into space and I think we should continue robotic missions like the Curiosity rover too.
