Marie-France has lost her voice and can only move a jaw muscle because of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Motor Neurone Disease (MND) or Lou Gherigs Disease. She shows how, with a single switch and AssistiveWare's Proloquo, KeyStrokes and SwitchXS software, she continues to perform a pivotal role in the household by doing the shopping, managing the bank accounts and even designing her own web site. Sadly, Marie-France passed away on 30 January 2012. For a high resolution version go to http://www.frontiersofassistivetechnology.com?video=Marie-France

How is Marie-France in Paris France doing these days

  • To The Lady On The Computer Please Look At YouTube video [Joey Schiavo: Terri Schiavo's Long Lost Brother Speaks] posted by HzraHorne He thinks Terry's life had no value but I think that was Murder and a most unkind Murder worse then the death sentence given to convicted killers in the U.S.A. being leathal injection or the awful electric chair but the electric chair can't be as awful as being starved for 14+ days in great pain like what happened to Terri Schiavo and many more in US

How much is your system for say a A.L.S.

patient who can't move anything like Ms. Bru

which my Grandmother was like her.

  • My Grandmother had A.L.S. and she could

not speak, could not walk, could not use

her hands, was bed ridden mostly and

died in her 50s when I was only 5 years

old I use to play with her wheelchair.

    Their was no talking assistiveware

    in the 1950s.

  • I feel sorry for people that are very poor and can't buy a computer and have your disease, It must be terrible. I'm glad your doing o.k for yourself.

  • Technologies are so good for people who are house bound, and can't get out to do the things they want to. Other wise years ago would be only able to watch T.V all day, Now you can do everything you want to on the computer, It's just mind blowing. Great video.

  • this is great that people that cannot use the computer can use them now! This video was very touching and it made me feel good inside because i know that apple has helped people. I am a special helper in my highschool and help the special needs kids around. I like doing this.. Thank you for creating this video . :)

  • I'm really happy that this technology we have allows those of us who have gotten a sh*tty break to even the playing field more than we could have imagined only fifty years ago.

  • Excellent equipment for those in need of help to use their computers.
