Here is one of the most basic shots in squash; the backhand.

6 points to remember:

1. Square shoulders
2. Racquet away from body
3. Cock your wrist
4. Racquet positioned at 80°
5. Racquet Drops
6. Hit through the ball

Be sure to watch my other squash videos to pick up some handy tips!

Cheers!

  • On the forehand video, Mr. Razik offers an outstanding tip about swinging parallel to the floor. Swinging this way surpasses any notion of trying to muscle the ball.

Why didn't he repeat this important tip on the backhand side? I find that swinging parallel to the floor works there as well. What would he say to that? He's a great player, and I'm sure he'd have an answer.

  • thanks a lot for effort but question: do you use your wrist to power the shot as in does the wrist rotate during the shot or is it firm and power is delivered from the arms?

  • @fadyadelnageeb my dad started at 14 and now he is really good - you can start at any age - you don't need to start at 5 to become a champion, it is a fun game and an excellent workout! good luck play well and make sure you wear goggles for safety - i've heard of a few people losing an eye from not being careful!

  • This videos really help starters like me :)

    Thanks

  • He f hes fucking hes self

  • @fadyadelnageeb never too late to learn squash. Well said khogilvy. You should start.. it's so fun.

  • Perfect tips for improvement and some good deep jungle tunes, the perfect blend!

  • @fadyadelnageeb its never too late to start learning a sport, but if your looking at competitions, youd absolutely have some catching up to do compared to the people at the top of the game who started playing much earlier.

  • is 14 too late to start learning squash ? maybe start international competitions too ?
