Congressman Paul Ryan (WI-01) offers an amendment to the inherently flawed economic stimulus package at a House Ways and Means Committee markup on January 22, 2009. Ryan proposes to address one of the biggest problems in the economy right now: fear and uncertainty. With massive tax hikes on the horizon, Ryan offers an amendment to keep tax rates on capital gains and dividends at 15%, indexed to inflation. Private capital remains on the sidelines with considerable tax uncertainty in the years ahead. Ryan's amendments would help unlock these investment decisions, and improve a deeply flawed $825 billion 'stimulus' bill.

  • The one good thing about Ryan's budget proposal is that it will put a lot of right wingers out of thier jobs and homes. They'll have to move in with the kids who won't have jobs either. Many will die from lack of proper affordable health care. I'm all for that.

  • pay for their own retirement instead of paying for the current old generation... so instead of saying stupid shit, why don't you grab an economics book and read it you braindead moron!

  • @Vetwolf13 hey imbecile! do you even know what you're talking about? privatizing social security means they are going to separate social security into "private" or individual accounts! right now our social security program is insolvent due to the very nature of the program itself combined that this generation has produced less workers than the one before, so right now you can kiss you're retirement goodbye you ignorant twatt! its better if we privatize it because it becomes solvent and people

  • "WE NEED A LEADER..WHO CARES IF HE BLACK,WHITE,PURPLE!"

  • The very first thing Boner, Ryan and the rest of the right wing clan will do if they get the majority will be to CUT TAXES FOR THE WEALTHY! Just like Bush did. How's that trickle down economics working for you? Suckers!

  • Ryan is big business's nigger!
