Anne Frank Huis Amsterdam

Through her Diary, ANNE FRANK has become a world-wide symbol representing all victims of racism, anti-Semitism and fascism. She stands for victims who lived at the same time as she did just as much as for the victims of today. The foremost message contained in her Diary sets out to combat all forms of racism and anti-Semitism

In the confines of the back house, which hid the Frank family from the persecution of the National Socialists, Anne began to record her thoughts. As well as the famous diary, she wrote stories in which she visualised the way things had been: the time when she still went to school, when she was allowed to live like other young people. She told of teachers, friends and minor adventures, of day-to-day life, which is all the more difficult to cope with when under the constant fear of being discovered.
