is it true that it is illegal to own, sell, purchase, or catch turtles in tennessee? I'm from Massachusetts and I'm moving to Tennessee and I've got 3 common musks and a hatchling eastern painted turtle and I can't part with them. I've had the musks since they were hatchlings( 5 years ago).

tc9er:Here's what our turtle expert says: "Tennessees laws regarding turtles are not simple. It is illegal to collect turtles in Tennessee without a permit which is not usually granted for personal use. It's illegal to sell species native to the state of Tennessee in Tennessee and, it is illegal to bring in any species native to Tennessee (this includes both species that this individual has) without an Import Permit. As far as Im aware, these are typically not granted to individuals."
