David always gets himself in a pickle.

I believe the best thing for them would have been for Fer to just let David go, not dramatically but honestly. Then, once David has gotten his fun from other people and has decided he thinks he can do better than Fer, well Fer can do better than him. But no, they are attached and will eventually self destruct.
