Cops Interfere with my Flatland - PART 3

After the first episode of harassment, Officer Oliver decides to come back. His response is 'oh, I see you brought a friend to ride his bike with you. Well, all the better, you've forced my hand'. Then drives away, apparently goes to the TJ Max management, and informs them that they have a liability issue in the back (basically files a complaint while sidestepping actually admitting to filing a complaint). Comes back to me, starts spewing crap, so I decided to turn on the camera and call him out on it. Here you go :) Shout out to global-flat and Han(TaMaDa619) for riding with me :)

PS - I uploaded this to my vimeo account but i believe i had technical difficulties getting it to youtube. This happened over a year ago, several weeks after the first occurrence.

After this episode or retardation, he came to a DIFFERENT spot on the other side of my apartment complex to 'bust me' for riding. How? Registration. In california (orange county) you legally have to register your bike. He impounded my bike. Yep. Impounded. I looked up the law and in no circumstance was impounding a appropriate action. I went to the civil center the next day to file a complaint and to speak to a commanding officer. I related the situation and ended up not only getting my bike back within 15 minutes, but they also registered it for me for FREE. I basically informed them that not only was I going to file a complaint against Officer Oliver, but that if he continued his harassment against me I would sue the santa ana police department.

His wife also contacted me on youtube many months back corroborating the story by providing me personal information she could not have had access too by watching my videos : ) She basically informed me that he was a man of a extremely violent nature and that I should avoid him at all costs to prevent personal retribution. AWESOME! THIS VIDEO ROCKED!

I also think HE msg'd me on youtube under a different alias to argue with me, but thats just because the patterns matched up to his behaviors. It could have just been another douche exactly like him, god knows they exist in uncountable multitudes.

dude, i just got a ticket for riding against traffic. the ticket stated that i was driving on the wrong side of the road. i am going to have a trial by jury if they push it. any suggestions?

Since traffic laws apply to bicycles, by the letter of the law you are guilty. The best thing you can do is appeal it saying you were only traveling on that side because you had just crossed and were trying to make it to 'put place here' that was right near the ticket spot. Or you can do a physical appeal in person and hope the cop doesnt show, then you can lie out of your ass and say you werent on the wrong side :P

Fantastic footage. Me and my friends actually got taken into custody on top of the bikes being impounded. The judge tossed the charge of "loitering and creating a disturbance". This was 1986, back in the day when cherrypickers and decades meant you were a flatland king. Cops have not changed a bit. I finish law school in 3 semesters and hope that I get the chance to help a fellow rider or skater out.
