@surfjabroni Well, i'm not sure. If this is the French Open FInal of 1984, he did complain about conditions, however that was more to do with the fact he was two sets and a break down and so any excuse would do, and i think it did eventually cost Mcenroe the match
Mcenroe has been an arsehole in his career, but in this case I completely understand and agree with his arguement no matter how patronizingly articulate he is with the umpire. The weather is terrible; rain on clay makes the court dangerously slippery and noticeably waterlogged. He has a right not to continue; think of the Fish/Murray game at Queens last year (forgive the time gap); Fish left because it was too dark for him, but Murray wanted to continue; Play stopped. Murray lost.
@berkeleylawyer Once McEnroe said that he had more talent in his pinky than Lendl did in his whole body. A wet surface shouldn't be enough to eliminate that difference.
how many of his contemporaries have won 9 grand slams in doubles titles and ranked 1 in doubles 257 weeks. Federer? Sampras? Agassi? Nadal? for me Mac represents an all around complete player

@IAMLS360 just out of interest was Lendl complaining about the conditions or was it edited out?
