wow. awesome lesson! best jerry lesson i've seen. really helps to see the basic music theory behind what jerry is doing... it takes the mystery out of it.

the more i understand of his solos and try to play them the more amazed i am by his unique approach.

I agree that while analyzing and breaking down Jerry style leads is demystifying, it actually makes you appreciate him more, for the reason you stated--his unique style--his originality. You'll start to hear him reuse licks alot, you'll start to recognize and understand what you hear him do, but it just makes it a deeper appreciation. Improvising every solo every night takes serious guts and energy. The man was one of a kind. More lessons to come.
