  • I saw him look at a log funny once and it turned into a boat.

  • Ray is awesome. I saw an episode once where he started a fire with a piece of ice..No shit! He melted and formed it into a lense shape and then magnified the sun onto his tinder.

  • Ray Mears is the Chuck Norris of SURVIVAL

  • official outdoors McGyver

  • Ray looks so young here how old is this show?

  • when the string starts to come to an end, add another section just before running out, and twist it into the 1st section. keep adding the same way each time you start running out until you feel you have a long enough string.

hedgehogleatherworks, Colhane, and Wildernessoutfitters all have vids on how to make cordage.

  • one of the other episodes ( that can be found here on YT ) shows in more detail how to do the whole thing, as well as how to add to it :)

i think its the Bushcraft 2/3 or 3/3 episode.

    cheers mate.

  • yes i made nettle string! much harder than he makes it look but once you get the hang of it its easy however im not sure how you keep adding to it if you want to make longer string

  • if walking at great distances you'll get lost with that technique because its not accurate and you might go in circles. =)
