Witty, marvelous moment in a great musical. I've loved it for years :)

Two show biz greats (Eddie Foy Jr. & Reta Shaw) recreating their Broadway roles. This soft-shoe must be one of the outstanding moments in the history of American Musical Theatre. I bet it stopped the show everynight!

@ambertinks The MPAA censors could still swing a mighty sledgehammer in 1957. Anything considered remotely sexually suggestive got put through the wash cycle. (It was a different world; they still did the "ladder test" on the cleavage in actresses' dresses, and yes, it's exactly what it sounds like). That wouldn't change until the ratings system (originally G, M, R, and X) started in 1968.

Barbara Bush has worked for years to look like Rita Shaw.

Nice to see a couple of older folks light on their feet!

Reta Shaw was an icon! She was just marvelous, as with many character actresses, she represented the rest of women, not just the Barbie Doll image!
Eddie Foy, Jr! Wow!
Bet there were no multi takes with these pros!
i absofruitly love this! We're doing this as a summer production, I'm trying out for the part of Maybel. Heizie is so crazy(:
