The most powerful video card ever made (for now :P) has been announced!

Specs:

480 Stream processors
576 MHz core clock
1242 MHz shader clock
1000 / 2000 MHz GDDR3 memory clock
1792MB total frame buffer (896MB per core)
4480-bit memory interface per core
56 total ROPs (28 per core)
160 texture units (80 per core)

ATI had better be cooking up something!

  • look at the specs, its just 2 geforce 260's stuck together....get the geforce 285 instead and sli them!

  • Yeah, and have only 30% of the second card used...

    Smart idea. :P

  • 38 fps at 1680x1050 and 2xaa?? That's really poor, isnt it? I've seen a video on youtube where a 4870x2 is running crysis at 35 fps 1920x1200 4xAA

  • "I've seen a video on youtube"

Stop right there, you just shot yourself in the foot.

YouTube is full of bullshit. Period.

Go look at some benchmarks, until then don't knock cards based on other YouTube videos.

  • I should better said, that i've talked to him, and he said me until 1920x1200 4xaa is playable, and he recorded it. Why should he lie. Anyway without comparing it to any other GPU, 38 fps 1680x1050 2xaa seems pretty low for this card.

  • It all depends on the machine and drivers that 3dGuru used to test the card. The specifications of which are unknown.

(Drivers were not released for GTX295 at the time of testing, GTX280 or 9800GX2 drivers were most likely used.)

FPS Benchmarks are not comparable between different systems and configurations.

  • i love how i can play every game completely maxed out with this card :D

  • yeah it's true, it can't.

But you the current high end video carda ren't enough for current rsolutions BECAUSE it can't max fsx out. And I just replied that that's not entirely true, a card that can't max out a badly programmed game, doesn't mean anything.

As I said, I can program you a pacman game that won't max out on cf 5870x2. Solely ebacuse I programmed it resource intensive.

  • where i come from ..it's not just i can't afford it ..i can't even find it to buy it

  • Left 4 Dead Two is awesome! I seriously like playing on the internet with my buddies. Every one of us downloaded the 100 % free edition and play it on-line all of the time. Anyone may grab it at L4D2dlXcom (replace X with . ) . You all will adore it!

  • @milio120 The 5970 is the fastest now, until nvidia stikes back with the GTX 495

  • Hi guys this is the best graphic card EVER made. You can have every game you can find in a shop on MAX resolution

    and settings.

  • me too but I dont get why nobody use 16xAA, this videocard can handle crysis with 16xAA with no problem, I always play it like this in max settings with directx10

  • umm FSX is no where near as graphically intensive as Crysis...

  • ok i said now try running FSX max out grafics .. on evrything and lets see if the GTX295 is anygood ....... i have a 9800GTX plus and it cant handel FSX on max setting ..

  • just read over your post, and you'll know what I mean, because i don't know what you mean.

You told me to 'practice', practice what? Practice being right more often? :p

And why shouldn't i know about what I'm talking. I thin it's way more plausible that you don't knwo what you're talking about.

  • uuhh ??
