PixelJunk Eden Garden 7 Speedrun - 6:36

Hey guys, managed to tame the beast here. The infamous Garden 7 of PJE completely decimated :D

(Btw, I've beaten this time now, shaved another 2 minutes off of it, see my vids here).

This is PixelJunk Eden, a game available from the PS Store for Playstation 3 owners. And the garden is number 7, which many, including me, find to be the most frustrating and difficult garden in the game. But, like defeating any other level, the key is learning patterns, knowing when to move, and make it work for you.

Yes, this is a speedrun for garden 7. Yes, this is a full clear in under 10 minutes. Some people told me it was impossible - hehe. Enjoy :) and don't be too shocked by the time xD

...How the hell do you tackle when the gravity is horizontal?

You have to move the sixaxis in the direction of the gravity :) took me a while to figure out but you get it after a while, and it becomes as easy as doing the normal charge.

You can avoid the gravity enemy by moving off screen when it first appears. You just need to be away from it before it starts spinning and making the noise and it'll be gone for a while.

Btw I found garden 8 and 10 to be much harder gardens to learn and deal with.

Yes, very true. But sometimes you need him. I deliberately miss what's usually my first spectra but this time it was spectra 2. That way, when I do collect it, he's usually pretty close by - I swung round to zoom out to trigger him changing the wind. All you have to do is line up the jump and you're right on the seed you need for that top left spectra ;) why spend time climbing when you can just jump to it eh?

For me the gravity shifts within the first minute.

Hehe, 9/10 it does for me too. I got lucky this time. But you see how I come back to the middle after the third spectra? You can get it then, but its better if you dont get it first to get it last instead, its easy to get on that platform no matter the gravity. You really have get number 4 while the gravity is to the left.

For me the gravity bastard come in like 37 seconds...yeah, I timed it :| I think this garden is easier in 1 player mode...thanks for the vid tho, really helps me see where the spectras are.

its impossible, what a shame it was all good til i got to this level i hate. i guess i wont be seeing garden 8, 9, 10. its not worth it. bad bad level hate hate hate .

Thanks, I figured it out. It made garden 7 so much easier than it was before. Having to tackle only one prowler to fully pollinate a seed saves so much time, and time seems to run out a lot faster in Wheel Window so it's a lifesaver.

Now I have to get just two more spectra on Return and I'll have them all!

I still haven't managed to start a game with 2:30 minutes before the first gravity change.. :(

Sure, I can still make it to that spectra as the first one but accordingly I can't use the video anymore since the gravity differs from mine throughout the whole game.
