http://facebook.com/chrispirillo & http://twitter.com/chrispirillo - Apple doesn't want Adobe Flash on their mobile OS because it's unstable. You can disagree with that all you want - I'll punch holes in every flawed argument you present. It has nothing to do with Apple wanting to make more money - it has to do with controlling the consumer experience, much like other CE manufacturers do. Flash would ruin the iPhone OS experience, not enhance it.

  • Flash crashes on Mac.

    Flash is good.

    Mac is garbage.

  • You dumbass. This is the most lame video i've seen. Apple doesn't have flash on their mobile apps simply because they regulate every app via their App store and flash is just that. Anyone can create an app using flash and post it on their site that can be accessed anytime, anywhere which defeats the purpose of Apple's App Store. Stupid ass.

  • Flash or not...Apple forces Itunes down your throat so any High End Android device will kick Apple's ass. The day they dump Itunes and make bt connection to all devices and cut prizes, there is a very small chance I will buy Apple again.

  • @SarahSaysSo1 It doesn't get viruses

  • @brianegan3 Name one thing they do better. Other than cost more.

  • @gyselph Flash apps tend to leak resources. Chris has a point. But he's missing the fact that JavaScript isn't so hot and Apple bans all kinds of other things like Java, Mono, not just Flash.

  • @elmucaro177 Talking purely HTML5/JS, Apple has made sure to discourage anything made there which acts like an application. Even Angry Birds requires iStore on iOS: no web apps for you.

  • @elmucaro177 Except Apple won't support the full HTML5 spec, which *supports* Flash as an embeddable MIME type. Doh! And Java is also banned. I think you got it confused with JavaScript.

  • ... All these interpreters and VMs are banned by Apple's iOS developer agreement: "No interpreted code may be downloaded or used in an Application except for code that is interpreted and run by Apple’s Documented APIs and built-in interpreter(s)." I don't understand how people just zero in on Flash and ignore the fact that this all comes down to Apple wanting you to get all their apps through the iStore. They're not even supporting HTML5/JS for application development.

  • So not only Flash sucks, Java sucks, Python sucks, Lua sucks, Unity sucks, pretty much every client-side interpreter/VM on the web except *drumroll* JavaScript!
