Most ski instructors agree that young children should not use ski poles at beginner and novice skill levels. However, by not having ski poles to occupy their hands, children often have difficulty keeping their hands level and in front of their bodies. Their uncontrolled hands and arms often flail about when trying to turn and keep in balance. Hand-Z-Bar is a safe and easy to use substitute for ski poles. A way to control hand and arm position, encourage correct stance, and proper orientation to the slope.

  • I particularly like this idea because the child is relying on their own legs and balance.Too often parents start their child off by having them ski between their legs. This often results in the child leaning on Dad's legs rather than standing on their own. I also see parents with their child in a harness--controlling the child's speed by holding the straps. It is really important your child learn to ski on their own with their hands in front. Leedski--PSIA Level III of Teach My Wife To Ski
