True... they got better. Sorry, but no one wants a guy in the band who doesn't show up for gigs or studio time. In retrospect, the lesson seems pretty obvious: if it's the late 60s and Keith Richards and Mick Jagger come to you to say that you're doing too many drugs, well, there's a distinct possibility that you might be doing too many drugs. It's not like those two guys were advocating drug-free living... it should have been a serious wake up call for Brian. Sadly, it wasn't.

It's not Jones, he was out of the band at this time.

Anyone who thinks thats Brian Jones on guitar has obviously never seen him or even a pic of him.

Sorry, their peak work was the period from "Beggar's Banquet" through "Exile on Main Street." Brian Jones was barely on "Banquet" and almost not on "Let it Bleed." By "Sticky Fingers" and "Exile,," arguably their best albums, he was gone. Mick Taylor was the guitarist on all these records. Brian Jones was a talented guy, but it seems to me that the Stones were at their best when Mick Taylor was doing his part with band.

Interesting comment, personally I think Mick Taylor's involvement in turn created some of the best albums they ever made.
