It's a Republic and a Democracy, you idiot. The two are not mutually exclusive. A Republic can be a Democracy. You could consider us a Republican Democracy or a Representative Democracy. We are definitely a Democracy, though. You should at least know what you are talking about if you are going to "correct" someone. Go take a government class friend.
