Solo hike to Indian Henry's Hunting Ground 6-13-10

I went on a hike from Longmire up the Wonderland trail across the Kautz Creek up to Indian Henry's Hunting Ground. My ultimate goal was Mirror Lakes (half mile past the patrol cabin) with a standard goal of the cabin. I only made it as far as Squaw Lake, about a half mile shy of the cabin. A good degree of route finding was necessary past Devils Dream Camp. My GPS didn't work in the trees so luckily I'm good with a map and compass.As a result, I didn't have time to search for a way to get further up to the cabin. There are a few video scenes thrown into the slide show to give life to the locations and my adventure. I didn't encounter a single person all day past Rampart ridge.

great! i hiked from longmire to indian henrys (and on to mowich lake) in august 2009. most , but not all, of the snow was melted by then. i saw a bear about a mile short of golden lakes. i'm going back in august 2011.
