The Global Development team approaches the design, construction and operation of our stores in ways that amplify our local relevance and our commitment to environmental responsibility. As our stores are designed and renovated, we're sourcing materials and hiring craftsmen on a localized basis. We've also set a goal to achieve LEED® certification for all new, company-owned stores worldwide beginning later this year. It's an exciting time to be part of the evolution of design at Starbucks.

  • Get bigger chairs. Other than that... I can sleep there.

  • F*ck that guy looks like a fat Jackie Chan !

  • how does Starbucks guarantee its customers that the food charity trays that are returned daily to the store counters were not used to wash dirty diapers , or to catch vomit , as they are certainly transported in unknown vehicles that transport pets, and are out of the sight of Starbucks hygiene. As for hygiene, the cash register clerks receive the money and immediately place their fingers onto the drinking portion of the cup ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • Wow, I would love to be a designer for Starbucks. I'm going to school next year for architectural technology followed by basic engineering and I'll have a degree in applied technology by the end of the 5 years. Becoming an architect for Starbucks and designing their stores would be a dream come true. The amazing thing is no two stores are identicle leaving the doors for new design always open. I've been to around 8 stores, 6 in Canada, 1 in the US, and 1 in Switzerland. p.s. best coffee!

  • Love my starbuck hot coffee !!

    John

  • @NinkaPanda Hey in Starbucks you can customize your drink anyway you want. You can order a large ice coffee and tell them to use the the small scoop ice for your drink instead of the large ice scoop for the same price. Its not like McDonalds or DD

  • Lol starbucks = 80% Ice , 20% actual iced coffee.

  • Omg, I didn't know each satrbucks were deisnged professionally.

Seriously, this starbucks I went to was the tiniest place ever. A normal person could only fit probably 2 tables max, but starbucks managed to fit 5 tables and too make it comfortable to move around.

omg they have like the best designs.

  • @darkbox336 You don't say if you have any connection with Starbucks but I've travelled all over the coffee loving world and I've never come across 'carpal tunnel syndrome' being an issue.

In the UK for instance 'Costa Coffee' an equally large chain uses proper expresso machines with no issues.

A number of people have suggested that Starbucks uses 'vending machines' because a) they don't have to train anyone to use them and b) its quick. There's no benefit to the coffee consumer whatsoever

  • @rockandrope The reason why starbucks went with the "push button vending machines" is that baristas were getting carpal tunnel syndrome from the old school manual espresso machines. It had to do with how they held the press and put it into the machine. About the coffee... I think they do a pretty good job at staying on top of the game. An added bonus too is that a lot of the coffee beans bought by starbucks are through fair trade, which in turn gives alot of the profit back to the grower.
