Blues Train by Wistbacka (No relation to the band "Blues Train")

PLEASE READ THIS!!!

Recorded in 2006 using a headset microphone and the software Audacity.
This was my first recording ever.

At this time I didn't own any Piano. Only had my little Casio to use. (The Picture was shot in April 2008)

One evening as I was improvising - Just messed around with the keyboard, I got this superb idea of recording my "mess" only playing the piano sound. Ended up as a 6½ minute long blues essemble. And you know what? It turned out to be kinda good. That's atleast what I thought. So then I thought: "Hey! Why not make a real orchestra-song of this in good old blues/R&B style?"

And so I did. First out: Drums: I acctually played them drums by myself on the keyboard. Tip-tap-tipety-tapety-tap... Wow. This simple Blues-beat is hard to play. Concidering that I'm no drummer and playing them on keyboard.

Next up, was the Bass. Simple bass. I really don't handle "the way of the bass". Specially not in that time. Remember: This was 2 years ago.

After this I added a hammond-sound to some parts of the song.

Next up was the Harmonica. I acctually play a real harmonica here. Not Keyboard-generated! Note here: I don't know how to handle the harmonica. Only know how to breath in and out and where to find different tones... lol

Last out was the Sax-section. Why a sax-section? Cause they're sweet! AND I'm very influenced by the Blues Brothers rythm and blues band.

This all turned out to become TEN different tracks that I made into one. Took alot of time to edit too.

What did I just tell you?
ALL SOUNDS EXCEPT THE HARMONICA ARE MADE BY THAT SWEET OLD KEYBOARD. AND I'M PLAYING IT ALL MYSELF!



WHAT AM I PLAYING?

First part is total improvisation.

Second part is a simple blues that I learned in 5th grade - in 2000. Don't remember the name of it though.

Third part is the solo and bridge - Total improvisation.

Fourth Part is the good old tune of Johhny B. Goode by Chuck Berry.

Fifth Part is solo and outro - Also total improv.

Yes! I would! If only this would be a BAND NAME, which it isn't: It's the song-name. The "Band name", or in this case ARTIST-name is "WISTBACKA".

So I'm sorry! Won't happen. I could rephrase the title a bit, though...

Still, I'm glad there's a video of this thing so I can hear what it sounds like.

How the hell would I know? But if you like the Yamaha sound better, then go for that! Of course you should testplay them both, but since they're keyboards I'd say the voice/sound is the more important thing!

I want to buy a Yamaha (psr 413), but im thinking about a Casio now. However, The Yamaha Gran Piano voice sounds better for me. What do you think?
