In 1967, Barbra Streisand recorded her third television special - "The Belle of 14th Street." A true tribute to Vaudeville-style entertainment, Barbra featured special guests on her shows, some hilarious numbers, and even a scene from a Shakespeare play. Enjoy this Belle of a concert.
I like "The Belle of 14th Street." I know it's not regarded as highly as "My Name Is Barbra" or "Color Me Barbra," but I think "Belle" showcases Streisand's versatility. I love this opening.

I love this performance and also the intro, "Put Your Arms Around Me." They're just a blast to hear. Frankly I think "Belle" is an underrated and overlooked gem in Barbra's repertoire. If you subtract the other performances and just leave her solos, it's first rate entertainment. I also love the novel concept of showcasing the great days of vaudeville. With a little editing and a bit more care this could have been her greatest TV special after My Name is Barbra.
